I sat down to write an introduction to a post about using analog tools like my bullet journal to mindfully track my reading over the years and well...out came a poem.
It has nothing to do with my bullet journal.
Everywhere Words
Words are everywhere.
Screens with words are everywhere.
Fake books with screens with words are everywhere.
No wonder we feel overwhelmed.
Overstimulated.
Foggy. Chaotic.
Lazy?
Maybe.
Tired?
Always.
Mindless?
Sometimes.
We seek it out.
We crave.
We cave.
We binge.
We cry.
Less. Mind.
lesser me.
Less of me.
Less of us.
(It can't just be me.)
Words are everywhere.
Everywhere, they're words.
Everywhere words.
Be mindful.
I am full.
Mind. Full.
In case you're wondering - no, the irony doesn't escape me. My born-digital word-baby lives only on your screen.
I hope no one reads it.
